The Full Story
WELCOME TO CALOUNDRA CITYLIFE BAPTIST
We are a friendly, welcoming church with a
heart for people and our neighbourhood.
If you are new to CityLife, we’d love to meet you and help you get connected into the life of the church!
Come and chat with us at one of our Sunday services, or find out more about our various ministries.
Welcome! It’s a real pleasure to have you on our website. We hope you visit CityLife and feel warmly welcomed, encouraged, and drawn closer to Jesus through your time there.
Our heart as a church is to point people to Jesus and to see them growing in their relationship with Him. We’re all on that journey together and we desire to help you take that next step in your faith journey too!
We aim to walk as a community in many ways, some of which are outlined on this website. We’d love to encourage and support you as you grow, but also see you encouraging and supporting others, making use of the gifts, skills, and talents that God has given you.
CityLife Baptist is a community of believers who are seeking to centre our lives and faith on the Gospel. We’re not perfect, but we are family and it’s my hope and prayer that as you join with us, you might add to our diverse, imperfect family and find your spiritual home here, as we support each other to be the people God has made us to be.
Warm regards,
Pastor Gordon Busse

Our Purpose
Why do we do what we do?
The world needs HOPE.
Jesus is the hope of the world and the church is His instrument to deliver that hope.
We accomplish this by striving to be a loving community, seeking, serving, and sharing Jesus!
Wherever you’re at on your life journey, we hope you will find CityLife to be a place of acceptance, love and hope. A place to belong. A place to connect with others and do life together.
Our Values
CityLife, as a faith community, is:
● Holy Spirit led
● Mission & outreach focused
● Prayer, bible, & worship centred
● a genuine caring community

Our Team
Leaders ready to guide you.
The Pastors and staff of CityLife are passionate about seeing the Good News of the Gospel shared throughout our local community and across the world, bringing love and hope to all those who need it. Our leadership are committed to delivering excellent care and experiences that engage, equip and empower others to expand God's Kingdom!

Our Vision
We can see a church in the future where…
● God is always placed center-stage in our hearts and lives, where discipleship and growth of the CityLife Church family is clearly reflected in the full expression of Holy Spirit fruit and gifts and where testimonies are constantly shared of healing, restoration, God's activity in and through trials and pain, miracles, and empowerment as we walk in our unique God-given calling.
● People from all walks of life and backgrounds find belonging amongst us, because every person matters to God and therefore matters to us.
● Every person is connected, discipled, and committed to meeting small and being known.
● Every member of CityLife recognizes that they are anointed to minister in their God given calling, to share the responsibility for CityLife ministry and growth, and to support the greater CityLife Church community.
● All generations at CityLife are united in Christ, and yet with an intentional focus on investing into younger generations as they are the future of the church in our city and nation.
● CityLife is known and celebrated in our community because of our deep, genuine Christ-like love for others, reflected in needs-based ministry and mission.
CityLife’s intentional Spirit-led missional presence locally (including the Caloundra Christian College), and around the world, is bringing families and individuals to a vibrant saving faith in Jesus Christ, because the Gospel is powerfully and faithfully being proclaimed.

What We Believe
The Bible
The Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God and the supreme authority and basis for all our beliefs and practices. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
God
God exists as one God in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, Ephesians 2:18, Hebrews 9:14, Deuteronomy 6:4)
Jesus
Humanity
The Lord Jesus Christ is both divine – the only begotten Son of God, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity; and human – the son of the Virgin Mary. (Philippians 2:6-11, Colossians 1:15-20, Isaiah 7:14, Galatians 4:4)
All people are born sinful and separated from God – and in need of God’s saving grace. (Romans 3:10–18, Romans 3:23, John 3:16)
Salvation
The Lord Jesus Christ has accomplished the forgiveness of sin and the freedom from the penalty and power of sin by His perfect obedience, death, resurrection, and present intercession. (John 14:6, Acts 4:12, 1 Peter 3:18, 1 Peter 2:24, Romans 8:34, Hebrews 7:25). Salvation is only possible through repentance to God, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:38, Acts 4:12, Acts 16:30-31, and Acts 20:21)
Holy Spirit
The immediate work of the Holy Spirit in the rebirth of people, in bringing them to maturity in Christ, in gifting them according to His will for ministry and in guaranteeing their spiritual inheritance until they acquire complete possession of it. (Ephesians 1:13-14 and Ephesians 4:7, Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; 1 Corinthians 12:11-13)
Jesus' Return
Baptist Ordinances
The dead will be resurrected and the final judgment of all people by the Lord Jesus Christ will happen. (2 Thessalonians 1:6-10, Hebrews 9:27, Revelation 20:1-15). The Lord Jesus will return visibly and gloriously to claim His own. (Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:13- 18)
The two Ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ are baptism and the celebration of the Lord’s Supper and are of perpetual obligation. Baptism being the immersion in water of believers upon the profession of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and a symbol of the fellowship of the regenerate in His death, burial and resurrection. (Romans 6:4). The Lord's Supper being a memorial, until He comes, of the sacrifice of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Luke 22:19 -20)

Caloundra Christian College
Caloundra Christian College was founded as a ministry of Caloundra Baptist Church in 1983. Over the years it has grown in student numbers and building development has taken place to accommodate the growth.
Although the church and the college are now separate entities, the relationship between the two continues to strengthen, and both communities seek to honour and serve each other in a variety of ways to see God glorified.
